According to this blog it looks like I've done nothing for nearly 4 months. In reality it's past in the blink of an eye with very few moments of quiet or contemplation. {I'll post some of the past times at some point}. Our boy is growing {crawling, pushing up teeth, giggling, eating with us (after a fashion), hiccuping and enjoying the cats}. I've been working on a ceramics book - due out next year - and getting a bit of time in the studio to try some of the million ideas I've been ruminating on while I've had my hands full with him. It's all quite an adjustment and not an easy one from where I'm standing so I've been glad of some very wise words at opportune moments from my dear friends some of whom have been there and done this and some that haven't.
This piece is as yet unfired - her scruffy thought branches are terracotta.....

Oh I know how that is! Getting a little work done during a nap here and there (a nap where I didn't need to nap too!) Or working after bed time...
Looking forward to the book!
Hello Lovely! Ah, we know you've not been twiddling your fingers ; )
Busier than ever.
Nice to see your presence back on here. me x x
As much as it's been hard and exhausting, I think their bedtimes and naptimes have been the two most productive periods of my life! Nothing like a ticking clock to motivate. Now they're both at school, but after 8 years, my brain has been trained to feel constantly panicked, MUST GET MORE DONE! I wonder if I'll ever stop feeling this sense of urgency...
Exciting news about your book :)
