draw a blank or getting drawn in.....



















I'm always disheartened but intrigued when people say they can't draw. To me it's like saying I can't think.  Drawing is no one thing - it's not one fixed activity that you always do with one tool, at one location for one purpose. 

I draw to record an idea, to display an idea, for the love of the line, the feel of the paint, to try out shapes/forms and most of all to see what happens - there are a million other reasons.......

These quick drawings  were done with watercolour and a running out pen - in an attempt to get an idea down fast, in a scale {bit bigger than usual} that will serve as a reminder of my intention without getting lost amongst the chaos of my other ideas!  I drew without too much preciousness, {although it did try to creep in} whilst standing -  for freedom of movement.
