Look away now

I started teaching an experimental drawing
course yesterday, we began with one of my
favourite exercises - not looking at the paper.
I  grabbed an opportunity to do a couple
of biro drawings of the other people in the
room as they drew each other.

The green lady is one I did earlier

I love to draw without looking my paper too... it's so amazing... I love your ceramics but I also love your drawings...

that's fun. I did that with a group of
children in a painting class last week!! they loved it. and I also love paint with my eyes closed, if my mind turns in a one-way-road when I do my work.

this is always fun; i used to also , get my students to paint to music, 'paint the music'. love the unknown in these sort of explorations.

ps: radical change of subject; i have a 'caustic comment' giveaway running this week chez moi; if bored please feel free to pop by...

yes! that's how i learnt to draw when i was young and it has stuck until now!!
a good way to capture exactly what you see without censoring. wish you were teaching classes here in Australia... (i've been meaning to say hello to you for a while - starting to feel like a snoop)
