Spent most of yesterday going through work from my MA and when I first started ceramics. Here is rug full of my first pieces. Thered nosed man above with the nude lady heavy on his mind was one of my favourites from my early MA work.
I should be posting a sunny picture of sun and warmth and no rain and no mist or fog but just sun and warmth but I've been enjoying it not recording it! There was an article on Robin Rhode in this weekend's Guardian - he has a show at the Hayward starting in October...I'm planning my trip now!
I went to Tent London yesterday to see some of my fellow Next Movers and explored some more shops around Brick Lane including Shelf. I love the 'click for letters' you can do on their site..have a look!
I really needed to be in two places at once as I also wanted to visit the Brighton Art Fair too to see Charlotte's work - on our last trip to Brick Lane we rounded the day off in a pub with Charlotte ad Will talking about walks, cats, books etc and I promised to post a picture of JT's ever expanding collection of Penguins.
We spent last week in Norfolk at Clippesby Hall in a very large still not dry even though we've been home several days tent. Visited the fabulous Sainsbury Centre on the UEA campus in Norwich. My favourite things were the Chinese tomb lady figures and the man on a stick AND the building itself which looks like it's fallen from the sky. Clippesby is in the Broads where there are birds galore.
Welcome to my blog. I am a UK artist based in the South West. I make heads and faces using ceramic materials from my studio on a windy hill between Bristol and Bath. I use drawing and photography too. This is about my work, finished pieces and workings out, my environment, my collections and fascinations...in fact everything that goes into my head that has some sort of creative impact/outcome.
